Dear Editor:

If Europe has structures still in use today that are hundreds of years old, why can't our buildings make it through one century without someone's bright idea to refresh and start over? Why not restore and preserve? This is not an impossible task by any means.

Hopefully the lure of a sparkling new facility will not deter those with the power to maintain and protect Baton Rouge Magnet High School from doing just that.
